You are an awesome God; You are both holy & loving. You are worthy of our lives. Thank You that we, Your people at Heyworth Christian Church, are not just saying that but living it, not just in word but in deed (1 John 3:18). Thank You for the honor of being Your hands and feet, both those that have gone on this mission trip & those who are sending us (1 Cor 12:27). We pray as we encounter spiritual warfare as You build Your Church, through us, we will rest in the fact of being Your chosen method to push back the gates of hell (Matt 16:18, 1 Pet 2:5), having Your power of salvation (Rom 1:16) to proclaim Your excellencies, who has called us out of darkness into Your marvelous light (1 Pet 2:9).
Lord, we believe Romans 1 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. 19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. 20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. 21 For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things. 24 Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, 25 because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! 26 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; 27 and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. 28 And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.
Lord, we confess Romans 8: 19For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. 20For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope 21that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. 23And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the first-fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.
For Lord as You have said, Romans 10:10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. 13 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” 14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” 17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
Lord, our ambition is in-line with Yours shown through Paul, Romans15:20 I make it my ambition to preach the gospel, not where Christ has already been named, lest I build on someone else's foundation, 21 but as it is written,
“Those who have never been told of him will see, and those who have never heard will understand.”
Lord God, we go to do the good works You have already prepared in advance for them (Eph. 2:10). Thank You for Your Great Commission, where You said in “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations (ethne/ ἔθνη), immersing (baptizó / βαπτίζω) them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to obey all that I have commanded You. And behold, I am with You always, to the end of the age” (Matt 28:18-20). We trust You are with them in a special way as they make disciples of the nations (ethne/ ἔθνη) or ethnolinguistic people groups to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8). We believe that even as the Father has sent You, Jesus, You are sending them (John 20:21), and thank You for giving us the gift of Your Holy Spirit as it is better that for us to have Your Holy Spirit within us than even You, Jesus, beside us (John 16:7). We know You go before them, so we are not too afraid (Deut 31:8) (Phil 1:28); even if the mountains depart and the hills be removed, Your loving-kindness (hesed/ חֶ֫סֶד) does not depart from us, nor will Your covenant of peace be removed (Is 54:10).
Lord, we know You love the whole world (John 3:16), and You are not slack concerning Your promise, as some count slackness, but are longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). We earnestly await Your return but know “this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come” (Matt 24:14, Mark 13:10). Even from the beginning we acknowledge Your heart has been to rescue and restore us unto Yourself (Gen 3:15). Even to Abram, You said, "Go from Your country and Your kindred and Your father’s house to the land that I will show You. 2 And I will make of You a great nation, and I will bless You and make Your name great, so that You will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless You, and him who dishonors You I will curse, and in You all families or kinship groups (mishpachah/ מִשְׁפְּחֹ֥ת) of the earth shall be blessed" (Gen 12:1-3). Lord, we know Your heart, You want to reveal Yourself to all kinship groups or as we would say today, to all community & neighborhoods. Lord, help us and our Mission Team shown and tell that we know that the LORD is God; there is no other besides You (Deut 4:35).
Lord, continually You have told us, from Your ancient chosen people to us who have been grafted in (Rom 11:17), that Your desire has been so that all may know that You are God (Exodus 7-12). You say, we are Your witnesses and Your servant whom You have chosen, that we may know and believe You and understand that You are He. Before You, no god was formed, nor shall there be any after You. You, You are the LORD, and besides You there is no savior. You declared and saved and proclaimed, when there was no strange god among us; and we are Your witnesses to all the nations (Is 43:10-12). You have said, “I will make You as a light for the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth" (Is 49:6).
Lord, “let these words of mine, with which I have pleaded before the LORD, be near to the LORD our God day and night, and may he maintain the cause of his servant and the cause of his people Israel, as each day requires, so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the LORD is God; there is no other” (1 Kings 8:59) “So now, O LORD our God, save us, please, from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You, O LORD, are God alone (2 Kings 19:19) .”
Lord we sing praises to You with the Psalmists to the God who causes the nations to turn to Him (Ps 96:1-3, Ps 72:17, Ps 86:9).
Lord God, “You have shown signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, and have made a name for Yourself” (Jer 32:20).
For You have said “For so the Lord has commanded us, saying, "'I have made You a light for the Gentiles, that You may bring salvation to the ends of the earth'" (Acts 13:47).
Until that day where all our brothers and sisters in Jesus (Matt 12:46-50) will worship You “And they sang a new song, saying, ‘"Worthy are You to take the scroll and to open its seals, for You were slain, and by Your blood You ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, and You have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth" (Rev 5:9-10).
